Victorian Old European Cut Diamond & Ruby Snake Earrings

The Victorian Era saw a slew of snake-motif jewelry after Prince Albert famously presented Queen Victoria with a serpentine engagement ring. Considered a symbol of eternal love, these snake earrings feature approximately 1.25 ctw of old European cut round diamonds (color: F-G; clarity: VS2-SI1), bezel-set in sterling silver (purity: 925) with 18K yellow gold snake heads and earring backs.

The serpent’s gleaming eyes, fashioned from rubies, add a bit of color to these dangling dazzlers. The component pieces for these earrings date back to the Victorian Era, while the overall snake design was imaged and rendered by an independent master artisan based out of New York City and Pennsylvania, using pieces from his personal antique jewelry collection.

These stunning earrings are approximately 2.125" x 0.25" in with pierced push posts and a "585" hallmark. They remain in very good condition showing minor signs of wear.
