His signature animal bracelets, all set in his favorite yellow gold, have dressed many stylish women over the decades. Among his clients were Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Gloria Vanderbilt, Doris Duke, and Barbra Streisand. Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lawrence, and Beyoncé are a few amongst the brand’s more recent clients.
David Webb opened for business in 1948, in a small walk-up with just a few employees around the corner from New York’s Diamond District. By 1950, at just twenty-five, he had reached his first fashion summit: the cover of Vogue magazine. Having once said of his creations, “the more barbaric the better,” Webb embraced bold color, in gemstones and enamel, declarative art deco and heraldic forms, and big pearls accented with white diamonds.BACK TO SHOP

1960s 18K Gold Diamond Enamel Rhombus Bracelet
Beautifully crafted, this ornate enamel and diamond bracelet comes from the celebrated American designer David Webb, known for his animal designs and his excellent handiwork with 18K yellow gold. Declarative and bold in color, the bracelet shown here was crafted in the 1960's, and is astoundingly similar to a piece worn by Jackie O in 1961. By this time, Webb had become the go-to jeweler for society’s A-list fashionistas and high society women, crafting jewelry on premises in the workshop he opened in NYC’s notorious diamond district back in 1948.
The bracelet resembles a serpent with its rhombus-shaped enamel and diamond pattern, fashioned with 2.08 ctw of round brilliant-cut diamonds (about 0.02 ct each; color: F-G; clarity: VS1-VS2), prong-set in the classic 18K yellow gold David Webb famously mastered.
This American-made piece features a box clasp that seamlessly fits in with the design of the bracelet. The 17 x 1.7 cm bracelet weighs 60.08 grams. It remains in very good condition with only minor scratching on the metal and a "WEBB" marking.
