Oscar Ghiso was the Argentine-born Italian mastermind behind the Ghiso jewelry line. The collection spanned between Paris, New York City, and Buenos Aires where Oscar's father first set up a jewelry salon in the 1890's. Oscar coordinated with designers in Paris to bring fashion forward pieces to his distant Argentine childhood home.
Ghiso pieces originate in Art Deco with their motley shapes and pops of darkly hued colors. Even so, the designs take Art Deco to the next level. Each Ghiso piece is undeniably striking with their ornate detailing and bold patterns. The standout jewels are spectacular and remain highly coveted for their combination of glamorous designs cioupled with true craftsmanship.
The Paris and New York City locations of Ghiso shut down in the late 1930's and early 1940's. A great loss to the jewelry industry, the final flagship location in Buenos Aires closed in the 1960's.BACK TO SHOP

French Belle Epoque Chalcedony & Diamond 18K White Gold Earrings
These incredible chalcedony, pearl, and diamond dangle earrings by Ghiso were made in France during La Belle Epoque, French for “the Beautiful Era” - and it’s easy to see why. La Belle Epoque was a time of great economic prosperity, optimism, and innovation; in this climate, particularly in Paris, the arts flourished.
These beautifully crafted earrings feature vivid and slightly translucent green chalcedony stones, draped in square tablet-cut diamonds (color: H-I; clarity: I2-I3) bezel-set in 18K white gold, and separated by dainty pearls for a truly dazzling effect. These earrings, crafted by the Italian born designer Ghiso, were auctioned at Christie’s and are truly a work of art.
The French-made pierced earrings feature a post closure and weigh 12.08 g. Please note that there is minor scratching on the metal and a broken seam on back of one earring, hardly noticeable to the naked eye. The earrings maintain the markings "GHISO" and "18K" with two additional hallmarks.
