Founded in 1932, it has become one of the most exclusive fine jewelry and timepiece brands in the world. Through its continual dedication to producing exquisite fine jewelry pieces, the legendary American jewelry has earned its place on any top 10 list.
Renowned for its superb diamonds, pioneering craftsmanship, and innovative designs, the history of the company lies deep with historical gemstones such as the Lesotho, the Jonker, the Taylor-Burton, and the Hope Diamond.
Legend has it that when he was twelve years old (in 1908), Harry Winston himself recognized a two-carat emerald in a pawn shop, bought it for 25 cents, and sold it two days later for $800. Ever after, he was the consummate gemstone trader, buying jewels from one owner, reenvisioning the design, and reselling them to another. When donating the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian in 1958, Winston famously chose to send the 45.52 carat stone via by regular US Mail, in a brown paper wrapped box. He said he hoped the gift would help the United States "establish a gem collection" of its own.BACK TO SHOP
