Marquise Diamond Ring in Gold & Black Enamel

This 3.08 ctw antique ring comes from the Edwardian era. A woman sporting this decadent piece even a hundred years ago certainly owned her style with confidence, just as the ring’s next owner will. She was likely one of the first in her set to have such a large ring with a modern brilliant-cut.

We believe this ring dates to circa 1915-1920. The ring has a Victorian feel, but since the modern round brilliant-cut was invented in 1919, Gleem's appraiser believes it is from a slightly later Edwardian period.

The brilliant 1.75 ct marquise center stone (color: M-N; clarity: I1) is surrounded by 1.33 ctw of diamond rounds, prong set in 14K yellow gold.  The underside of the mounting features ornate scalloped openwork detailing, while the shoulders are delicately carved and filled with black enamel.

This ring is a size 7, and can be resized upon request. Please note that all resized rings are final sale. The ring weighs approximately 16.45 g and maintains the marking "14K". The piece is in very good condition with minor signs of wear on the metal and slightly chipped enamel.
